Global online learning event – Small is Bountiful

Environment programme / Webinar / Natural Security

Leading up to World Oceans day on June 8, Too Big to Ignore, a global research network that focuses on addressing issues affecting small-scale fisheries, is launching an online event, called Small is Bountiful.

From June 1-5 tune into its webinar series on small-scale fisheries and their contribution to ocean sustainability and innovation. Through these webinars, learn about topics ranging from: how small-scale fisheries found ways to adapt to Covid-19; opportunities for small-scale fisheries through the SDG target 14; how small-scale fisheries are coping in the blue economy; and more. To celebrate, on June 8, join for a 24-hour around-the-world event with a panel discussion and a virtual art festival. Read more about Small is Bountiful events here.

Too Big to Ignore falls under the Marine Conservation sub-Programme of our Environmental Programme, which takes a solutions-based approach to improving oceans’ health. We focus on three key sectors: industrial fishing, small-scale fisheries and plastics pollution. We support organisations based in Europe, the Arctic, East Asia and Africa.
