UK-based charity The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) has been awarded a Glaxo Smith Kline IMPACT Award 2019.

RMC assists refugees and migrants in crisis by removing barriers to their integration and enabling them to become equal citizens. Charities are selected for the award by the Kings Fund – a well-respected thinktank that campaigns to ensure the best possible healthcare is available to all.

The award recognises RMC for its innovative health services, which include providing a weekly health visitor clinic to help those who cannot access support elsewhere. The health of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants is often poor, with high rates of anxiety, depression and illnesses. RMC sought to reach this vulnerable group.

RMC is a partner of Oak’s Housing and Homelessness Programme, which supports organisations that identify groups who are at greater risk of homelessness and encourage early intervention and support.

Congratulations to the Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) from all of us at Oak!
